The Hickory Knob Quilting Retreat is scheduled for January 17-20, 2025!  Cost to attend is $50 and sign ups will begin after dues are paid for the new guild year, starting in September.  Hopefully you'll be able to attend the weekend of quilting fun!

This is a beautiful facility overlooking the bay on St. Simons Island, Ga. It is all-inclusive with a great place to sew (they have windows!); food is included and lodging is very close!  AND you are minutes from the beach as well as downtown St. Simons! On March 1 our own Sandy Paananen is presenting Improv Lets Break The Rules. Improv is working without a plan or a pattern. She will gently coach you to take a risk and think outside of the box by breaking the traditional rules of quilting. The most important thing to do is to walk into this class with no plan, be creative and design your own work. You will work from your scrap stash (everyone has scrap stash right?) Bring a bag full of your scrap stash to the class to work with. Lunch is included. More information can be found in your newsletter!

Have you ever wanted to go to a Retreat but stay home? Here is your chance! We are having a NATIONAL teacher come to do a 2 day workshop, April 25-26 2025. Beth Helfter, of Evapaigequilts will, combine a couple of different methods of piecing to create a springy floral design. She is going to teach us scrap and color confidence, the Accordion Sewn HSTs method from basic to chain piecing Accordions and includes a discussion of quilting options. This two-day class will be low key, slower paced and fun! You will be able to complete your project in class!
